Studio Policies

Welcome to High Impact Dance.  We are very excited for our upcoming year and are so glad you are joining us!  Here is some basic information about our studio.  Please let us know if you have any additional questions. Registration Fee There is a $15 annual registration fee per dancer or $20 per family.  This is due at the time of registration.  It also includes a High Impact Dance T-shirt for each dancer! Tuition Tuition is due at the first class of the month.  It is the same amount each month regardless of how many classes are in that month (occasionally only 3 because of a holiday, sometimes 5) for the months September thru June.  We average it to 10 payments over the year.  It evens out and there are several rehearsals, extra practices, and performances throughout the year.  We prefer everyone to sign up for auto-pay.   The first month's tuition should be paid at the time of registration then auto-pay begins the next month.   A $5 late fee will be charged after the 15th of the month, and each additional month there is an outstanding balance. Withdrawing From A Class While we don't have dancers sign a contract, we do require 2 weeks written notice if a student is going to be withdrawing from a class.  You must fill out a withdrawal form available at the front desk.  Please let us know if we can accommodate you with a class change, etc.   Holidays, Etc. Classes are held according to the North Thurston School District calendar major holidays.  These include Thanksgiving, Christmas Break, Mid-Winter Break, Spring Break, and Memorial Day.  If school is cancelled due to the weather, class is also cancelled.  However, if it is just a late start, we will still have evening classes.  If you aren’t sure, feel free to call.   We will also post info on our website.  Costumes We will be ordering costumes in January.  They are usually between $60-$75 and include all accessories.  We make every effort to keep costumes affordable.  Sometimes, we may use them again the next year or another class may use them, so take good care of them.  Costumes must be paid in full at the time of ordering.   Performances All classes with (exception of technique) have the opportunity to perform in at least 3 shows per year.  We do a Holiday Show in December.  We provide the costumes!  Your child may need a black leotard etc.  Annual Recital is in June.  Costumes are purchased for this show and there is an admission charge for spectators.  Summer Showcase is in August and again, we provide the costumes!  Classes may be asked to perform in shows throughout the community as well.  Performances are a lot of fun!  Student Etiquette Students are expected to be on time to classes, and parents are expected to be on time to pick them up.  All students should practice regularly.  If you are absent, please get with a classmate to go over what you missed, so the whole class does not have wait while you learn it the next week.  Try and keep absences to a minimum.  Please take younger children to the bathroom prior to class time.  Parent Etiquette We have observation windows in each room, so parents can see what is happening in class.  We strive to maintain a positive & supportive environment in our studio.  Please do not discuss teaching, studio issues, other dancers or parents in a negative way with other parents.  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to ask us or set an appointment to chat privately.  Siblings are welcome in the waiting room, but must be supervised and not disruptive to others.  Questions, Concerns, Suggestions Please let us know if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions.   Class times are busy for teachers, so please feel free to call us at 360-455-4173 or email if you’d like to chat and don’t get a chance at class.
